Beginning Quilting 101



This class will introduce you to rotary cutting and quilting by machine. You will learn tips and tricks, beginning with choosing fabric. You will learn to strip-piece 4 patch blocks, add alternate plain blocks, sew the rows together, add two borders, sandwich your quilt, machine quilt straight line quilting and add a binding.  Everything you need to know to get started on a creative adventure into quilting!

You will make a 40x 40" quilt.  All fabrics must be purchased from our store.

A supply list will be given to you during the first class.

You must be comfortable with your sewing machine to take this class. You also must have a ¼ “ foot for your machine before the 2nd class.

You will have homework in this class in order to complete your project.

 

What to bring to the first class:

  • Bring any rulers and rotary cutters that you already own. Do not go and buy any before class.
  • Sewing machine in good working order (Please b ring manual)
  • Other basic sewing supplies to include: straight pins, thread snips, cotton thread, etc.
  • Fabric requirements will be discussed at 1st session.
