June 28, 2021 Newsletter

Well, summer is upon us and will be over before you know it!  Why do the days fly by so fast?

We have a few things going on at the shop . . . other than more fabric to ooh and aah at ????  Holiday prints are starting to arrive.  Most fabric companies are still running about 2 months behind.

Don't forget to visit our web page @ www.p2ptreasures.com often as my "webmaster" is adding new items continually.  Many products are available for online purchase as well as information about classes, etc.

If you haven't heard, we are participating in the "Sew A Little Love Bug" project in support of Youth Mental Health Awareness.  This is an adorable pillow in the shape of a bug.  Pattern and kits are available at no cost if you will return the finished product to the shop.  We will be collecting them all summer and distribute them as we can to youth in our area who may be experiencing a difficult time especially since the pandemic caused activity cancellations and delays.  (More information and pics are online.)

In conjunction with your donations of Love Bug pillows, we are also offering a one day Kids' Camp on Saturday, July 3 and again on Saturday, August 7.  This will be a time for youth (ages 9 and up) to come in and make a Bug.  We will help them learn to use a sewing machine, etc.  For a $10 fee, they will make a Bug to keep and one to give.  Please call 309-836-5999 to reserve a spot.

We are planning a post-beginner class/102 during July.  This is for anyone who has already taken our 101 class and wants to expand their newly learned skills.  Class will meet on Wednesday afternoons, July 7, 14, 21, and 28.  You will be making a pattern called "The Yellow Brick Road" which is a classic by Atkinson Designs.  This is a perfect fat 1/4 quilt for any skill level.  Fee is $40 plus pattern and 12 fat 1/4's.

Another class scheduled during July is the quilt-as-you-go project by Fun & done pattern.  Jeanne will be leading this class on Thursday afternoons, July 15 & 22.  Fee is #30 plus pattern, tool, and fabric requirements. See a brief demo of this technique on our Facebook page.

Also, Jeanne continues to offer a class on the last Monday each month.  Call to reserve a seat for her next session.  This week they will be working on the seasonal bird projects by This and That Designs.

One more class . . . Learn to use the pineapple trim tool by Creative Grids while making the bullseye placements as shown on our  June 22 Facebook Live presentation.  This class will be held Monday at 9:30 on July 19.  Book and tool will be required.  The fabric requirement is simply three 1/4 yard pieces for the tops.  Class fee will be $15.00.

Oh, did you know we do a Facebook Live every week?  Yep, we call it T for 2 on Tuesdays at 2:00.  Now you should be able to remember that.  Can't watch live . . No problem.  All presentations can be watched any time after.  All posts remain on Facebook indefinitely.  There is a link to our latest Facebook Live post on our website.

Stay cool, safe, and come see us often! ????
